Grade 2.5-3.  Prince Dowlin Suite was commissioned by the Princeton (Texas) Independent School District and the Princeton Band Boosters Association. Each movement celebrates one of the middle schools of the district. The poignant melody of Serenade is derived from songs suggested to the composer by Deborah Southard. Named for her and her husband James, this movement celebrates both Southard Middle School and the Southard family.
